Hey Arnold! REVIEWED - Launches 13 September 2015!

Football Head fans, rejoice!

Greetings! Deebiedoobie here, creator of the blog, As Told by Ginger: Reviewed!. This September, I will be back with another review blog of yet another Nickelodeon classic, Hey Arnold!. I'm really excited to start a brand-new blog, and I hope you guys are too!

I know I've been on the fence about whether or not to review another show because of possible time issues, but I'm willing to work it out. And because I love writing these reviews.

You might be wondering how I decided between my top two choices of Hey Arnold! and Avatar: The Last Airbender. It wasn't easy. At all. Although Avatar would seem like an excellent choice, each episode has an overarching plot that connects with each other and runs through the entire series (called a serial show), and reviewing each part of this epic story would feel more like a retelling of the entire series. Not to mention, I wanted to do a show that was lighter on drama so I can focus on characterization, storytelling, and humor.

Thus, going with Hey Arnold! is the better choice, given its familiar episodic style, and the fact that it's been off the air long enough for it to be considered nostalgic. Also, the series mimics As Told by Ginger in terms of it being an "unlikely kids show with surprising depth." It's a gem of its time (the 90s/early 2000s)--a time where kids shows weren't pushing the envelope like they are now.

Formatting will be roughly the same for each post as my Ginger blog--short introduction, some jokes, plenty of sarcasm, and high-quality (if I can get them) screenshots for enhanced blog experience. Oh, and lots of in-depth reviewing, of course!

I just need a little more time to finish up As Told by Ginger: Reviewed! before I start this blog, so, hopefully you guys can wait it out a few more weeks.

Remember, the first Hey Arnold! episode review will premiere Sunday night, 13 September. See you all then!

Love,
Deebiedoobie

  1. I've figured you'd do another review blog in the future, and "Hey Arnold!" was even my first guess for what show you'll do next! Congratulations, Deebiedoobie! I'll definitely mark my calander for that day!

This may be too early to ask, but will there be a chance of you reviewing "Hey Arnold: The Movie"?

    1. Maybe. If I do, it won't be for a long while since I'd like to get through the episodes first.

    2. Okay. Oh, I forgot to remind that Funnier Moments also has the entire "Hey Arnold!" series in high quality available for free, so don't worry too much about where to get your screenshots. However, I do not know if there are any mix-ups with the uploads, similar to "ATBG"'s page having "A Lesson in Tightropes" and "Dodie's Big Break" mixed up.
